Letter from the President....

 
As we move our way into June, the 2010 Hurricane Season is right around the corner. Cheer will be handing out uniforms at the end of June and football players will receive their equipment the second weekend in July, Mini Camp follows and then practices start.

This is the exciting time of the year when all of the plans and preparation is put into motion as the first day of practice gets closer. The BGYFL will be looking for team commitments in the next few weeks and we still have plenty of openings at all levels of play. If you know a player who has previous participated with the Canes or a player/cheerleader who would like to be a part of the Nation have them get in contact with Julia Flores, 847-321-0571, to register.

Remember this year our fundraiser will be the raffle and the ticket money is due the day of your equipment pickup. We have many exciting plans for this season including mini camp, annual pool party, parents dance, pep rally’s, homecoming, bonfire, and celebrating our 40th anniversary. We are looking for alumni and volunteers to help us make this celebration one to remember!

In closing, the Board of Directors would ask if you can donate any additional hours of your time helping clean up the complex, work in the concession stand, paint bleachers, etc. Our mission is to have our field and complex one that residents of the area want to come and enjoy.
