2007 Super Bowl Champions!!

Congratulations to Head Coach Vincent Hailey and our 130# team on their Super Bowl victory over Elmhurst Eagles today, 14-0. These boys have had an awesome season. Completely undefeated and only giving up 6 points. This dedicated group of boys never gave up their goal to win and win big. Thank you for showing us what it means to play hard and come out winners. You are an inspiration to all the younger players coming up in the Hurricane program.

Thank you to our 130# Cheerleaders and all the other girls that showed up to support the football team. You did an awesome job showing Hurricanes spirit and pumping up the crowd. Your spirited leadership is also proof that after all your years of hardwork, you too are winners! Thanks for an awesome season. YOU are HOT!

An especially huge "Thank You!" to Hurricane Nation! You were so loud, the squawk of the Eagle fans was barely heard. You also made us proud to be from Hanover Park and show the other towns what it means to support your whole program, not just your team. We appreciate everyone taking the time to drive down to Lisle and show the rest of BGYFL what it means to be Hurricanes!

We would also like to congratulate Bruce Brusven, long time friend of the Hurricanes and past president, for his years of dedication to the Hurricane program and to the Bill George League. We are very proud to say you are part of our program from the early years. Thank you for all you've done for the Hurricanes! And we wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

Javaun DeBrario McDonald, age 14, died unexpectedly Friday June 1, 2007, in a tragic accident at his home. Javaun played seven seasons for the Hanover Park Hurricanes and helped them win three consecutive Super Bowl Championships.

The Hurricanes are very saddened to lose such a valuable part of our program. Since his early years as a Hurricane, Javuan has been a positive influence on his teammates. He was a fine young man on and off the playing field. Javaun will be remembered fondly by all in the Hurricane program not only as a gifted athlete but for his kind heart and contagious smile.

Our deepest condolences go out to the whole family. Javaun is survived by his dedicated and loving mother, Debra; his father, Ellis; brother Charles, and sisters, Crystal, Lynda, Alferis, and Victoria.

The Hurricanes will be retiring Javaun’s number, 25, and will proudly display his jersey on the Hurricane Tower in his memory. As an additional tribute to this fine young man, the Hanover Park Hurricanes will wear the number 25 on their helmets this upcoming season.

Expressions of love and concern may be sent to the McDonald Family at 6910 Plum Tree Lane, Hanover Park, IL 60133.
